Total Compensation is $143,000 - $166,000.
Base Salary is GS-12 ($76,400 - $99,404) with this position qualifying for additional living quarters allowance and cost of living allowance. The portion of income received as allowances (Cost of Living and Living Quarters allowances) are not taxed providing additional financial incentive.

The Landstuhl Regional Medical Center Department of Pediatrics is seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our close knit care team providing newborn care for military families stationed in Germany. This position is part of a 1 Newborn Hospitalist Physician and 4 Neonatal Nurse Practitioner team providing continuous coverage of labor and delivery as well as newborn inpt care and limited newborn discharge followup care in Landstuhl Germany. This newborn nursery and Special Care Nursery affords schedule flexibility and ample opportunities to serve a deserving patient population working for the Defense Health Agency in the largest US Military Hospital outside of the United States. In addition to the Newborn team there is a team of 6 General Pediatricians who collaborate with the newborn medicine team and provide 24/7 backup as well as general pediatric admission capability for routine infant/pediatric inpatient admissions.
Our team partners closely with two host nation, German, Children's Hospitals for transfer of moderately and critically ill neonates. The neonatal team provides continuous in hospital coverage for Labor and Deliver with delivery rates of 60-80 births per month. In addition to delivery coverage this team attends on the newborn nursery and provides limited newborn followup care for newborns less than 2 weeks of age. Although the majority of the care provided by this position is healthy newborns applicants need to be competent in order to provide stabilization and transfer (to Host Nation transport teams) for moderately ill and/or unstable newborns.
This position is eligible for Living Quarters Allowance and Post Allowance which result in approximately 45% of your annual income being tax free. The base pay (taxable income) for this position ranges from 76,400 to 99,404 with current Living Quarters Allowance and Post Allowance rates of $4,000 and $1,600 (both allowances are tax free) per month. Experienced recruits are eligible for relocation benefits as well as advanced leave accrual rates commensurate with experience. Our central European location in Landstuhl Germany and flexible scheduling afford ample opportunity to travel throughout all of Europe. Dependent children have access to the DOWEA school system.
