DescriptionSummary:2 North is a 24 bed unit specializing in care of the mother and newborn post birth. Nurses and staff working on this unit participate in couplet care, aid healing mothers, educate new families, and assist in care of and education regarding newborns. This facility participates in the Louisiana Perinatal Quality Initiative to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality in Louisiana. As a result, the unit provides a high level of care, operating with policies grounded in evidence-based practice, patient respect, and empowering women and families through education.
