The Cardiac Stroke department at Parker Adventist Hospital has 14 rooms. Here we treat patients who have had strokes, patients 24 hours after stroke interventions, cardiac patients, heart failure, post-procedural heart cath patients and those experiencing chest pain. We tend to see more cardiac patients than stroke and we occasionally receive overflow with patients who are here for other medical reasons and have a strong cardiac history. Our ratios typically are 1:4 (days) 1:5 (nights). We are on a mission to provide high quality service and care to our community. Our team has a great culture, strong teamwork and are a bridge to ICU as we are all on one unit. Since we are a sister unit to the ICU, individuals working on this unit also have exposure to ICU patients. We look for individuals with strong teamwork abilities and encourage a collaborative effort. We also seek candidates who are not afraid to ask questions, want to grow their nursing practice in telemetry, have critical thinking skills, like to learn new procedures/technologies and enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment.
