Job Summary
Collaborates and manages all Commission on Accreditation for Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) standards with clinical staff, Physicians, clinical leaders, other medical professionals, air-medical personnel, and aviation specialist to coordinate all aspects of patient care and ensures the department provides the highest quality patient care while meeting all national requirements.
Job Specific Duties
- Collaborates and fosters strong working relationships with Physicians, Nursing Leaders, and staff in order to meet all regulatory CAMTS standards.
- Helps write and maintains written objective evidence of actions taken in potential and identified problem areas and the evaluation of the effectiveness of that action.
- Manages and collaborates with the Transport Medical Director and Nursing leadership to assure the program is in compliance with Commission on Accreditation for Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) & state Emergency Medical System (EMS).
- Compiles data & documentation, analyzes, and ensures adherence and timely submission to Commission on Accreditation for Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) & state Emergency Medical System (EMS).
- Designs, implements, and maintains system for CAMTS accreditation management. Provides guidance, leadership, and direction to the day-to-day business operations for accreditation program.
- Reviews patient encounters for quality and performance improvement.
- Promotes the effectiveness of the QM program and active participation by management and staff in the program by sponsoring active communication pathways bi-directionally between staff and management.
- Identifies the learning needs, programs development needed for continuous CAMTS accreditation.
- Manages performance improvement initiatives and activities; responsible for the annual performance improvement needs assessment process.
- Works collaboratively with pilots to ensure safe operations and to integrate policies and procedures with aviation personnel pertaining to adult, neonatal, and pediatric equipment and operations.
- Participates as an active member of the education committee, safety/quality councils and accreditation & regulatory.
- Ensures satisfactory completion of required transport educational components.
- Performs 100% transport chart audits.
- Provides clinical and organizational leadership to ensure the patients receive highest quality care and service as per CAMTS standards.
- Collaborates with the Medical Director and nursing leadership to develop systems and processes that enable the high-quality evidence-based flight medicine and nursing practice.
Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- RN Licensure within the State of Florida or Multi-State Enhanced Nursing License Compact (eNLC) - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
- Active Paramedic Florida license
- American Heart Association BLS - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
- American Heart Association ACLS - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
- Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) required within 6 months of hire
- Transport Professional Advance Trauma Course (TPATC) required within 6 months of hire
- 4-7 years of RN experience in an acute care healthcare environment
- 4-7 years of critical care transport experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing or related is preferred.
- One year previous experience in a leadership role preferred.
- Data collection and analysis experience preferred.
- Able to formulate and evaluate a plan of care for the patient.
- Monitoring implementation of clinical performance recommendations and action planning accordingly.
- Able to provide expertise, resources, and competent care within a transport setting.
- Able to lead all needed stakeholders through CAMTS standards.
- Able to assist in the coordination of activities of an interdisciplinary team.
- Able to solve department issues and maintains clinical practices.
- Strong organizational, time management, problem solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
- Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
