SPD Tech FT Days Position Summary:

Must be able to decontaminate, clean, package, sterilize, store and distribute medical surgical instruments and supplies in accordance with CDC, OSHA, EPA, AAMI, Joint Commission guidelines as required.

Essential Duties:

1. Maintains the instrument room in an organize manner.
2. Informs purchasing department of all needed supplies and instruments.
3. Prevents infection crossover of all equipment by following procedures.
4. Handles all instruments to assure proper working order and sterilization according to manufactures IFU.
5. Assures trays are complete; notifies supervisors of missing instruments.
6. Maintains proper record keeping for sterilization of trays, sterilization loads, Washers, Ultrasonic ,V-pro, biological incubators
7. Assures all surgical needles, instruments and sponges are properly accounted for during and upon completion of surgical procedures.
8. Cares for equipment to prevent breakage, loss or inappropriate use.
9. Maintains cost effectiveness by using only those supplies necessary.
10. Require to rotate and perform all duties like: decontamination room wearing full PPE, assemble trays, run Sterilizers, Ultrasonic, Washers, V-pro, Heat sealers
11. Must be able to push case cart when needed.
12. Promotes, ensures, and improves customer service to internal and external customers.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned within the scope of training and service.
14. Able to work in a collaborative environment

Competencies Required:

Employee must meet physical and mental requirements as identified by the physical activity evaluation form

SPD Tech FT Days candidate will possess the following education, licenses/certifications, and experience:

Education and Experience

Required:

Ability to follow written and verbal direction

Minimum Education:

High school graduate or equivalent

Minimum Experience:

One year of central supply/instrument tech experience. Successful completion of a Sterile Processing program/degree will meet the minimum experience requirements.

Preferred:

Recent acute care experience

Pay Range: $19.50 - $27.00
