IR Tech Full Time Days Position Summary:
The IR Radiology Tech is responsible for performing the appropriate skills and techniques necessary during the cardiovascular procedure under the scope of practice. The IR Radiology Tech has the responsibility of identifying and maintain patient safety as it relates to radiation exposure and safety. Position rotates between scrub, monitor and circulator. This position requires taking call and ability if called to be at the hospital within 30 minutes
1. Maintain equipment and supplies and organizes work area 2. Interacts with patients, visitors, staff and physicians 3. Performs clerical duties 4. Maintain educational and technical training 5. Assists the physician by planning all cardiac catheterization, coronary angioplasty, peripheral angioplasty, Interventional Radiology procedures, insertion of intra-aortic balloon pump, Angiojet, atherectomy, impella devices, temporary and permanent cardiac implantable devices . 6. Assists in transportation of patient to and from cath lab, and in preparation of patient and chart for cardiac catheterization or other procedures performed in cath lab. 7. Responsible for assisting with direct patient care during procedures and in post-procedural area. 8. Is responsible for prepping the patient, setting up sterile field, back table and all instruments and catheters used during the procedures. 9. Demonstrates competency and tests all equipment prior to procedure to insure proper functioning. 10. Demonstrates competency and ability to operate equipment used during procedures. 11. Prepares all monitoring equipment prior to the procedure to include the hemodynamic monitor oximetry, cardiac output computer, all transducers, during procedures. 12. Reports equipment malfunctions and obtains repair service as needed. 13. Performs inventory maintenance. 14. Assists with the ordering of supplies and equipment, proper stocking and maintenance of department as needed, to include equipment cleaning and sterilization. 15. Assists in retrieval of images for physicians as requested, and helps to maintain film and hemodynamic reports properly. 16. Accountable for regulatory and compliance standards. 17. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. 18. Attends in-service and symposiums to keep updates on interventional cardiovascular and radiology procedure advancements. 19. Assists in preparation of cardiovascular conference. 20. Demonstrates knowledge of Radiation protection. 21. Annotates using electronic or radiopaque markers to indicate anatomical side , position and relevant information on images 22. Ensures weekly phantom checks 23. Checks MD privileging prior to start of case 24. Practices sterile technique , universal precautions 25. Accountable for efficient time and resource management 26. Responsible for effective communication with patients, physicians, co-workers, and other customers. 27. Completes other duties as assigned. 28. Practices Attendance Policy
Facility Responsibility: 1. Ensures accurate billing and order for each procedure 2. Completes other duties as assigned 3. Ensures timeliness from study order to completion. 4. Sends all studies to appropriate IP address within the CPACS system. 5. Alerts Registered Nurse Coordinator of any system malfunction immediately. 6. Notifies Bio-Med with any equipment malfunction according to policy. 7. Manages Kronos correctly. 8. Ability to respond within thirty minutes of call back.
IR Tech Full Time Days candidate will possess the following education, licenses/certifications, and experience:
Education
Required: Degree from and accredited Radiologic Technologist school and current ARRT licensure and CRT.
Experience
At least 2 years working in Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology Suite
License/Certifications
Current California license,CRT and AART, Current California Fluoroscopy license. Current BLS, ACLS.
Knowledge and Abilities
Has full command (verbal and written) of the English language. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Pay Range: $41.25 - $57.10 Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an employee�s qualifications and experience.
