The Pediatric Intensive Care, Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is an advanced practice nursing role is responsible for improvement and maintenance of scientifically based clinical nursing care for the critical care population. The CNS intervenes at the patient/family, the nurse, and at the systems level.
