We work closely with Bariatric, Acute Care Surgery, Vascular, Urology, Gynecology, Plastic Surgery, and Cystic Fibrosis providers to provide the best patient-centered care possible to our patients. Unit/Position SummaryThe Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient's needs. Boise 6 East Med/Surg Unit is a 35 bed combination of general medical patients as well as post-surgical patients. The average nurse/patient ratio is 1:5.
6E provides care to adult patients with general medical conditions and/or post-surgical abdominal, vascular, urology, bariatric and gynecology patients. Our team includes RNs, CNAs, Case Managers, Educator, leadership (Manager, Assistant Nurse Managers) as well as RT, PT, Pharmacy and Dietitians. Boise 6 East Med/Surg Unit is a 35 bed combination of general medical patients as well as post-surgical patients. 6 East vision is a commitment to providing patient-centered care and professional growth/ development of our staff

Responsibilities
- Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments.
- Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
- Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
- Manages care of patients.
- Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities
- Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
- Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Nursing Degree (BSN preferred)
- Experience: 1+ years of RN experience
- Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice
