The Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital is offering up to a $9,000 sign on bonus.
University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital is located on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. We provide a broad range of pediatric programs from surgery, imaging and neonatal and pediatric intensive care to cardiac and oncology (cancer care) services and blood and marrow and organ transplantation.
Our clinical staff apply innovative approaches to creating medical breakthroughs based their work with patients and on findings through research at the University of Minnesota. This has led to several firsts, including the first successful pediatric blood marrow transplant, infant heart transplant in Minnesota and cochlear ear implant surgery for a child.
Through teamwork and collaboration, we respectfully address the physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual needs of pediatric patients and their families.
The Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RNs are able to float to the pediatric medical/surgical units as well as the following units: pediatric intensive care, pediatric cardiovascular intensive care, pediatric emergency department, and the neonatal intensive care unit. The critical care RNs function in the role of charge flyer in which they serve as a resource for the entire pediatric hospital, making staffing recommendations, as well as are members of all emergency response teams, including code blue, rapid response team, and trauma activation team.
This position will be working 48 hours every two weeks on the night shift, 12 hours shifts and every third weekend. The position is eligible for benefits including loan reimbursement.
Safely employs (sets-up, utilizes and trouble shoots) the following monitoring devices;
Manages complex medication and infusion therapies
Care for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit.
Demonstrates ability to safely and accurately operate unit equipment.
BLS for healthcare providers
MN RN licensure
One year of Pediatric RN experience
BSN or higher degree in nursing strongly preferred
