The Cytotechnologist performs microscopic evaluation of gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens, including fine needle aspirations, according to established procedures and protocols. The Cytotechnologist accurately screens routine GYN and Non-GYN slides for the presence of abnormal cells. The Cytotechnologist works effectively as a team member within the department and with other departments to provide quality service through communication, cooperation, and collaboration.
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Cytotechnology, graduate from a CAHEA-accredited school of Cytotechnology.
Experience: 1-2 years’ previous experience preferred; student training accepted
Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements: CT (ASCP) certification or equivalent preferred.
