Geisinger Wyoming Valley in Wilkes Barre, PA is looking for an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to fill the role of a provider in the Neonatal department. The successful candidate will implement therapeutic plans described by the physician based upon the physician's diagnosis. If you're ready to put your caring to work, we invite you to join our neonatal team, caring for critically-ill and recovering term and preterm infants in our 12-14-bed (with twin capacity) Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Average census is around 9 with 30-35 admissions per month. Our team consists of 4 physicians and one other part time Advanced Practitioner.Our NICU staff cares for premature and term infants requiring specialized care such as continuous cardio-respiratory monitoring, supplemental oxygen, mechanical ventilation and CPAP for respiratory support, IV fluids and IV antibiotics for suspected infections and intensive phototherapy to treat severe jaundice. Our LifeFlight ground and air transportation teams are also available 24/7 for swift transfer to the Geisinger Medical Center NICU level IV in Danville.
