The Stroke Coordinator is a registered nurse who has completed a bachelors degree. The role encompasses functions such as: Practice, consultation, education, research, and program leadership and administration. The coordinator collaborates with Nursing Leaders, Medical and Nursing Staff, the Multidisciplinary Health Care Team, and has responsibility for coordination, and abstraction, of programs including, but not limited to, stroke/thrombectomy, and ensure compliance with TJC, regulatory, compliance standards, works with market leaders, other stroke coordinators, and facilitates, with medical staff, stroke committee meetings.
Required Training/Education/Experience/Certification: 1)Bachelors Degree. (2) Minimum 3 years in area of expertise. (3)CA RN license, BLS, ACLS.
Desired Training/Education/Experience/Certification: (1) Appropriate Advanced Life Support (i.e. ACLS, NRP, PALS, instructor status preferred) (2) National certification in area of specialty (NCC or CCRN). Meets all of the clinical competencies required.
