M Health Fairview is looking for a Patient Care Supervisor at Woodwinds Hospital to lead our Maternity Care Center/NICU Team.
About This Team:
RNs and Support staff will work underneath the guidance of the Patient Care Supervisor. The Maternity Care Center has three types of nurses: SCN, Labor and M/S. All our nurses care for Post-Partum patients.
Woodwinds Maternity Care Center (MCC) is in Woodbury MN. We are a busy unit with approximately 2000 deliveries every year. Our unit cares for labor, post-partum, medical/surgical and special care nursery patients. Registered nurses on our unit are hired by their specialty in labor, medical/surgical or special care nursery and all the nurses care for post-partum patients. MCC has 26 beds which includes 2 triage rooms and a waterbirth room. The five bed Special Care Nursery cares for newborns 34 weeks and up. We also have an OR on our unit. Our labor nurses circulate cases and our surgical techs are staffed on our unit 24/7. Additional resources include lactation consultants, an outreach coordinator, in-house OB and NNP 24/7,and massage/aromatherapy/acupuncture.
About This Position:
This position works 64 hours, every two weeks on the day shift and 1 off shift a week.

The PCS aids in promoting the practice of professional nursing as well as the development and utilization of resources. The PCS works cooperatively with the Nurse Manager, administration, physicians, staff and customers of the M Health Fairview system to provide services and consistently meet and exceed expectations of the people we serve. The PCS participates in aspects of budgeting, performance management and human resources matters, including recruitment and the administration of disciplinary measures. The PCS assists in implementing and supporting safety protocols and regulations ensuring compliance with federal, state and local requirements and meets all Joint Commission requirements. The PCS will model behaviors consistent with M Health Fairviews mission, vision and philosophy and effectively maintain the hospitals Standards of Care and Practice.
Assists in managing the day-to-day and shift-to-shift operations
Supervision of personnel in the department and projects as delegated.
Hiring, discipline and performance evaluations
Acts as a role model
Collaborates with Nursing and Provider leadership to implement and evaluate standards of practice.
Supports our patient experience initiatives
Assist with nurse and tech development
Demonstrates skills/abilities in provision of patient care and directs patient care
Compass review and follow up with unit staff and other departments
Bachelor degree in Nursing (BAN/BSN)
At least three years of Nursing experience, specific to NICU
At least one years of Nursing leadership experience (charge/preceptor experience acceptable)
