Summary

The Mother Baby Registered Nurse / RN provides high quality, safe, cost effective, total nursing care to post partum patients and neonates by utilizing the nursing process. The Mother Baby Registered Nurse / RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on need of the patient and family members. The Mother Baby Registered Nurse / RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, Infection control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided. The Mother Baby Registered Nurse / RN utilizes evidence-based practice in accordance with professional standards and adheres to the Florida State Nurse Practice Act. The Mother Baby Registered Nurse / RN reviews orders/test results and documents care delivered accurately and timely in electronic health record. The Mother Baby Registered Nurse / RN will provide care in a family centered environment where mothers and newborns remain together for the duration of their hospital stay. This position is also responsible for delivery room attendance,and stabilization of the well newborn.

Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Preferred: Academic degree in nursing (Bachelors or Masters degree)

Certifications
Required:

• Registered Nurse - licensed in the State of Florida
• American Heart Association BLS & NRP certification
• New Grads need to have BLS before start date. NRP within 90 days of hire

Experience
Minimum: One (1) year experience in a Med/Surg area or in nursery/mother baby unit preferred
