March 2021 Peri-Op Training Program Start date is March 15th for external applicants The Surgical Services Peri-Op Program offers self-motivated and highly driven experienced nurses the opportunity to learn the fundamentals and principles of perioperative nursing. Six-month formalized instruction including classroom didactic and extensive clinical experience Cross- Training in the Pediatric, Ambulatory, and Main O.R. environments Basic O.R. case prep Scrub and circulating duties Creating and maintaining a sterile field Safe use and care of surgical instruments and equipment Computerized documentation Airway management, anesthesia safety State of the art Level 1 Trauma Center Shift is dependent upon the needs of the Surgical Services Department Sign on bonus available to both internal and external applicants. Relocation assistance for external candidates. 1 year of Acute Care RN experience preferred. New Grad RNs with serious interest in Surgical Services should apply for RN Residency Program openings and list Surgical Services as area of interest. Work within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients. Provide clinical leadership for other staff and assume relief charge duties when designated. Serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric age groups. |
