Abrazo West Campus (located at 136th Avenue and McDowell Road in Goodyear) is a 200-bed acute care hospital serving the healthcare needs of the residents of the southwest Valley since September 2003. DESCRIPTION: The pharmacy medication history technician, under the supervision of a pharmacist, is responsible for obtaining and documenting patients� complete medication histories. Histories will be obtained through discussion with the patient and/or family, contacting the patient�s pharmacy or provider and/or any other needed resources. The individual in this position will be based primarily in the emergency department but will also work with patients in inpatient units and other areas of the hospital. The individual in this position will work 10 hour afternoon shifts. The pharmacy medication history technician may cross train in duties covered by the inpatient pharmacy technician, under the supervision of a pharmacist, such as: filling medication orders, stocking automated dispensing cabinets, preparing sterile IV admixtures and others. #LI-MB1 Qualifications: POSITION QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent GED. Completion of formal education program which meets requirements for certification. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Licensed by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy. REQUIRED COURSE(S) TRAINING: Completion of the national certification exam (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) SPECIAL SKILLS: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional periods of above average pressure. Must have basic computer skills. Excellent customer service skills. Must be willing to work in all areas of the pharmacy services as assigned. Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with team members required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional periods of above average pressure.
