Nursing Professional Development Consultant – NICU
As a Nursing Professional Development Consultant, you will be a registered nurse with expertise in nursing education who influences professional role competence and professional growth of nurses in a variety of settings. In this role, you will support lifelong learners in an environment that facilitates continuous learning for nurses and other health care personnel. You will foster an appropriate climate for learning and facilitate the adult learning process. In addition, you will support nursing leadership in the provision of quality patient care by ensuring the clinical competence of nursing staff.
At least two years of education experience
At least three years of clinical experience in a specialty
A bachelor’s degree in nursing
A current Oregon or Washington RN license in the state where assigned
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers required within 30 days of hire/transfer
Knowledge of current regulations and requirements (TJC, OSHA, OSBN)
The ability to work as an effective team member
Demonstrated skills in didactic presentation
Demonstrated time management skills
Strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution skills
Preferred Qualifications Include:
At least three years of leadership/management experience
At least five years of education experience
At least five years of clinical experience in an acute care setting
A master’s in nursing with focus on clinical specialty
Certification in specialty practice (Nursing Professional Development and/or clinical specialty)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
