The Vice President, Neonatal Services (VP Neonatal Services) has strategic, operational, and budgetary responsibility for programs, and services in departments / programs as assigned consistent with the organization’s mission, goals, and objectives as well as Neonatal Service Line Strategic Plan. He/She will provide clinical expertise to teams of nursing and allied health professionals. The VP Neonatal Services fosters collaboration between Medical staff and other departments and Health Systems to achieve Nationwide Children’s Hospital Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan.
The VP Neonatal Services will develop tactics in conjunction with Hospital Senior Leadership and Neonatal Division Chief to align patient care of neonatal population to achieve the Neonatal Strategic Plan. He/She will work in close collaboration with individual NICU Medical Directors and Patient Care Services Directors with responsibility for approximately 310 NICU beds across the units of neonatal services to ensure safe, consistent and effective patient care. This person will serve as a Safety Leader to reinforce a culture of safety. The VP Neonatal Services participates in service line strategic planning activities and provides mechanisms for staff engagement. He/She shall monitor and administer activity, revenue, expense, and capital budgets for the assigned departments and programs.
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in a Level III nursery, a strong nursing operations background and 5 to 7 years progressive management experience/administrative experience. Previous management or leadership experience in a complex setting, preferably in an academic medical center environment and Children’s hospital experience preferred. Leadership in a Women and Infants or PICU role would be considered.
