In this role, your primary focus is to create a relationship of trust with patients through demonstrating that each patient is more than their health issues. In collaboration with the Senior Director and Chief Nursing Officer, you will also be accountable for the development of both long-and short-range goals for the department and services that are consistent with goals and objectives of the hospital. Other responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate the operational management for the unit to ensure quality patient care
Identify, plan, implement and evaluate processes, technology, personnel, and facility needs required to achieve patient outcomes safely and cost-effectively
Strategic planning for the department and high performance throughout the hospital
Create a holistic, patient-centered care that goes beyond disease management
Generate/manage budgets and identifying variances
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policy
Role modeling excellence for other nurses
Conduct orientations, in-services and performance reviews
Assess and ensure competency and active license status and/or of the clinical staff
To qualify, you must possess:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and NYS RN license
Prior experience in related unit/specialty
Three to five years of progressively responsible leadership experience
BCLS and NRP certifications
Proven ability to make great customer service a priority
Capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Computer proficiency and exceptional oral and written communication skills
The ability to maintain confidentiality and be dependable
