Develops and maintains employee health services policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable standards.
Maintains confidential employee health records on all employees to ensure compliance with JCAHO, Title XXII and corporate standards.
Reports any disease that is reportable according to Title 17, Section 2500, whenever a listed disease is identified while providing infection control coverage within the necessary timeframe.
Actively participates in the Safety Committee on monthly basis.
Ensures that Employee Health Services comply with JCAHO/ OSHA /and other applicable regulatory agency requirements.
Acts as a visible resource to department Directors, managers and employees.
Coordinates all pre-employment physicals to assure applicants are able to perform the essential functions of their job with or without accommodation.
Reviews all pre-employment physical testing including, outsourced physicals, lab work and x-rays of new hires prior to employee start date and makes recommendations for follow-up as appropriate.
Coordinates ongoing TB compliance to accurately and submits to HR Generalist for annual evaluation purposes.
Schedules and processes pre-employment physicals and documentation.
Provides information and teaching to new hires/employees regarding any abnormal lab test results within 48 hours. Referrals for M.D. follow-up if indicated.
Works collaboratively with Workerï¿½s Compensation Claims Representative to assess work related injuries and illnesses
Works collaboratively with Workerï¿½s Compensation Claims rep, employee, physician and department manager to ensure employee returns to work as soon as possible.
Manages modified work program to accommodate employees released with restrictions to return to work.
Coordinates necessary documentation with carrier, providers and employee to assure timely completion
Files employerï¿½s First Report of Injury and coordinates medical treatment within established guidelines.
Reports information on questionable claims to administrator.
Immediately informs supervisor of any lost workday claims and assists in coordinating modified duty or other return-to-work activities.
Ensures that managers have conducted and documented their accident investigations.
Maintains OSHA Form 200 Log.
Keeps supervisor abreast of ALL workerï¿½s compensation activities.
Creates and maintains reports and provides to Safety Committee including outcomes of investigations.
Assures all hospital employees and volunteers are offered immunizations/vaccinations as stated in policies and procedures.100% employees documented compliance of the same.
In collaboration with Nurse Epidemiologist, monitors and follows-up on all percutaneous / pernoscomial exposures, including source testing and employee testing. Assures proper documentation of incidents, and maintains all necessary record keeping and maintains confidentiality.
Serves as a resource and back-up to the Nurse Epidemiologist as necessary.
A. Minimum Education: Education necessary to attain Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California and current CA RN license.
B. Minimum Experience: Workerï¿½s Compensation and Employee Health experience in healthcare setting preferred.
C. Required Certification/Registration: Current American Heart Association BLS card
