The Director, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit will provide leadership and direction of quality patient care consistent with the organizational goals, hospital mission, and with the highest standards of professional care achievable for neonates and infants, including those with special needs, in an acute and/or intensive patient care area. This individual maintains responsibility for the overall administrative, clinical and fiscal management of the Wasie Neonatal ICU at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital and the JDCH Neonatal Transport Program with more than 200 FTEs and a budget of $155M. For the sixth consecutive year, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital was named among the best children’s hospitals in the United States according to U.S. News & World Report.
A Bachelor's degree in nursing with an extensive track record of success is required. A Master's degree is strongly preferred.
Candidates should possess seven years of senior leadership experience in a level III or equivalent NICU that included oversight of the neonatal transport program and surgical services.
Experience managing and enhancing neonatal services in a hospital or health system. This includes providing leadership, developing strategies, and building efficiencies into the system, which will allow for the future growth and success of the department.
Forward thinker, able to foresee future events and take action to prevent problems and/or seize opportunities. Viewed by others as proactive and possessing a high level of intuition.
