Seeking a Nurse Manager to oversee both Lankenau Medical Center which has a Level III with 22 beds and Bryn Mawr Hospital’s NEW Level III 14 beds Neo Natal Intensive Care Units
As a Nursing Leader you will be focused on developing staff, driving quality and patient experience. As a Nurse Manager you will oversee the clinical and administrative operations of two nursing units Bryn Mawr Hospital (BMH) and Lankenau Medical Center (LMC). You are accountable for providing leadership to staff in the maintenance of professional nursing practice, provision of quality patient care and a culture of safety. You will be supported by an Assistant Nurse Manager at BMH and LMC. The Lankenau and Bryn Mawr nurses cross cover the 2 NICUs to enable staffing effectiveness in coordination with the central staffing office. As a Nurse Manager you will accept responsibility for these units under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to be accountable for patient care activities and the development of staff in a fiscally sound manner.
Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure quality patient care and satisfaction.
Act as a leader and facilitator in shared decision-making initiatives, at the clinical, departmental, and system levels, resulting in a superior patient experience.
Lead in accordance with professional practice standards as set forth by the American Nurses Association, PA Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards and MLH policies and procedures.
Travel: The traveling distance between LMC and BMH is approximately 5 miles.
Schedule (anticipated): 3 days at LMC and 2 days at BMH.
Lankenau Medical Center NICU Unit:
The Lankenau Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a 22-licensed bed level 3 NICU. Our patient population includes infants ranging from 23 weeks gestation to term. We are an all in-born facility and perform over 2800 deliveries per year. We transfer infants requiring surgery to other local tertiary care facilities. We admit approximately 300 infants into our NICU per year. Our patient population includes extremely low birth weight infants, preterm, late pre-term and term infants. Respiratory modalities include high frequency ventilation, conventional ventilation, nasal CPAP, NIPPV, and nasal cannulas. Our staff is trained to deliver total body cooling to infants with neonatal asphyxia. We also care for infants with neonatal abstinence syndrome.
Our staff consists of approximated 50 registered nurses, 6 unit secretaries, respiratory therapists, physical and speech therapists and social workers. Our medical staff provides in-house coverage 24 hours a day and is composed of physicians, neonatal nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
Bryn Mawr Hospital NICU Unit:
The Bryn Mawr Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a 14-licensed bed Level 3 NICU, affiliated with Nemours A.I. duPont Hospital for Children. Our patient population includes infants ranging from 23 weeks gestation to term. We are the admitting NICU in the Main Line Health Care System (MLHS) for outside transfers and we admit infants less than 1 month old from our Emergency Department requiring specific levels of care. Our Labor and Delivery department has 1500 in born deliveries. We transfer infants requiring surgery to other local tertiary care facilities. We admit approximately 150 infants into our NICU per year. Our patient population includes extremely low birth weight infants, preterm, late pre-term and term infants. Respiratory modalities include high frequency ventilation, conventional ventilation, nasal CPAP, NIPPV and nasal cannulas.
Our staff consists of approximated 30 registered nurses, supported by unit secretaries, respiratory therapists, physical and speech therapists and social workers. Our medical staff provides in-house coverage 24 hours a day and is composed of physicians, neonatal nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
Schedule and Shift:
Full-time, day shift with off shift accountability
Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
BSN preferred other related Bachelor’s Degree or pursuing required; MSN or other related Master’s Degree in process or completed.
Licensures & Certifications:
A current PA RN license.
Maintains validation of current BLS training (CPR).
NRP Certification in specialty area desired.
Three to Five years of clinical experience in area of responsibility preferred.
Prior management, supervisor, charge, coordinator, or other related leadership experience.
