Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
HELP WANTED NURSE PRACTITIONERS DIVISION OF NEONATOLOGY
The Michigan State University College of Human Medicine Department of Pediatrics and Human Development is now accepting applications for several Nurse Practitioner opportunities with our Division of Neonatology. We will be recruiting for several on-call and one full-time position. Successful candidates will serve on at our Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (RNICU) at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI.
The successful candidates will be expected to assess, plan, and evaluate medical care in collaboration with MSU neonatologists. These positions require knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing one or two years of post-bachelor degree work such as a Masters in Nursing; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in direct nursing care in a specialized area or a Master's Degree in Nursing; up to six months of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in direct nursing care in neonatology; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. These positions also require possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse and specialty certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan. May require certification by the American Nurses' Association in a specialty area.
Only those candidates who have completed an approved neonatal nurse practitioner program for registered nurses and a neonatal resuscitation program and BLS will be considered. All potential candidates must successfully maintain certification as a neonatal nurse practitioner, complete a criminal and educational background check, and pass Michigan State University HealthTeam and Sparrow Hospital credentialing.
