The Swedish Cancer Institute is looking for a Clinical Trial Nurse (1.0FTE / Day shift) to work at the First Hill campus in Seattle, WA.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Clinical Trial Nurse, BSN to join our family of providers, nurses and other healthcare professionals devoted to providing cancer patients with the most comprehensive treatment options and innovative therapies available.
The Clinical Trial Nurse (CTN) collaborates with physician researchers, Clinical Research Coordinators, and pharmacists to coordinate care for an assigned population of patients who are participating in clinical trials. The RN assists in the clinical assessment, management and coordination of research care across the continuum of care (outpatient, inpatient and home) including triage of phone calls, proactive patient communication. The Clinical Trial Nurse manages a population of patients across multiple protocols, maintains continual clinical assessment of research patients, monitors side effects and educates research participants and their family members regarding study participation, participant's current clinical condition, and or disease process. The CTN facilitates cross-functional communication with their interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety, accurate collection, completion and reporting of research data, and protocol compliance. The Clinical Trial Nurse actively participates in planning and evaluation processes to improve and advance clinical research within the organization.
Familiarity with EPIC a plus. Hematology and solid tumor background a must and outpatient oncology experience is preferred.

Foster growth and development through training and mentorship of others on the proper conduct of research
Clinical Trial Administration:
Participates in the informed consent discussion, reviews and confirms study patient eligibility for clinical trials and coordinates protocol driven procedures and assessments.
Assesses, identifies and prioritizes clinical information for medical team for patients that are enrolled on clinical trials.
Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement plan of care for the patient.
Maintains patient safety and protocol compliance
Assists with collection and documentation of eligibility, randomization, patient assessments, treatments, and follow up care as defined in the protocol.
Ensures that all documentation is completed in a timely, complete manner
Reports and documents serious adverse events per protocol and institutional policy
Actively participates in disease team research meetings and provides updates on enrolled patients
Collaborates with clinical care and supportive care teams
Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursing Baccalaureate degree (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
Applicants without a BSN degree must actively pursue and attain a BSN within 6 years of hire
Continued employment by Swedish beyond 6 years is contingent upon attaining the BSN degree
Current Washington State RN License
Minimum 2 years’ experience within specified research field
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Oncology or Chemotherapy certification highly preferred
Previous experience in any of the following disciplines: Hematology/GI/GU/GYN/Lung/Breast
