UCSF Fresno and the Central California Faculty Medical Group are seeking an experienced academic leader to establish the UCSF Fresno Division of Pediatric Surgery and serve as chief of that division within the Department of Surgery. The program is based at Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC), a tertiary 650 bed hospital in the central San Joaquin Valley. In the CRMC system there are about 10,000 deliveries per year with nearly 1,000 admits to the NICU. There is an 85 bed NICU in addition to a PICU. There is a full complement of pediatric specialists including anesthesia and CRMC was awarded a Perinatal Care Certification by the Joint Commission, one of only four in California.
Applicants must be board certified in general surgery and possess a certificate in pediatric surgery from the American Board of Surgery. Further, they will have proven leadership skills, have demonstrated ability to create collaborative relationships, and have an established area of research interest. The successful candidate for the Pediatric Surgery Division Chief will have excellent clinical and teaching skills. The Chief, under the direction of the Chief of Surgery, will provide key leadership in the strategic direction of the division, enhance educational programs for medical students and residents and expand the research mission of the surgery department. The successful candidate is preferred to have a California license or be eligible to obtain a California license at the time of hire.
