UMass Memorial is seeking a Clinical Coordinator for our 49 bed, Level III NICU. Located in central Mass, we are the tertiary referral center for high-risk deliveries and neonatal care for the region. Serving the surrounding community UMass sees 4,000 deliveries per year. The NICU Clinical Coordinator is a clinical expert who is part of the NICU nursing leadership team. Working together with the nurse manager, another clinical coordinator and our unit educator, the clinical coordinator oversees daily functions of the unit. The coordinator works with the unit educator to support staff in the implementation of policies, new equipment, and new initiatives. He/She works with the nurse manager and other clinical coordinator to ensure proper staffing of the unit and assists with patient flow of discharges, admissions and transfers. The coordinator communicates with nursing leadership on other units to build relationships and strengthen collaboration between different teams.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or management experience and current Massachusetts Registered Nurse licensure and registration required. Minimum of two years related clinical experience and at least one year experience in the clinical preceptor and/or resource role. Demonstrates leadership experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
