Providence is calling aRegistered Nurse -Labor & Delivery (0.9 FTE, Nights) to Providence Portland Medical Centerin Portland, OR.
Our L&D unit consists of 17 LDR beds, 2 ORs and 4 Triage rooms, and we help to deliver roughly 2,500 bouncing babies annually. Now we are looking to use our unit to its full capacity and we need nurses to help us achieve that goal. Come and share your skills with our team!

In this position, you will:
Provide and supervise professional, independent nursing care for Providence patients that is as evidence-based as possible. Care is based in the nursing process and is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act.
Apply knowledge of assessing, planning, ordering, giving, delegating, teaching and supervising professional nursing care delivery that promotes patients' optimal health and independence.
Possess a broad range of general nursing knowledge and expertise. In addition, development and validation of knowledge and skills essential to the assigned department, patient population and/or practice area are crucial.
Participate in and lead clinical teams and may supervise, assign or delegate to licensed practical nurses (LPNs), certified nursing assistants (CNAs) and other healthcare workers.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursing degree/diploma required upon hire
All Registered Nurses (RNs) without a minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing must obtain a bachelor's degree in nursing or higher within 3 years of hire.
A RN with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a Bachelor's degree in nursing
Unencumbered RN license in Oregon with OSBN at time of hire
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certifcation
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
One (1) year of Labor & Delivery experience
Relevant training and certifications applicable to the position, as specified by the Nurse Manager
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support (STABLE) course
Recent fetal monitoring class
Perinatal specialty certification
Postpartum & Newborn experience
Three (3) years of L&D RN experience
