Henderson Hospital Henderson Hospital is a member of The Valley Health System, a network of six acute care hospitals that provide care for patients throughout Southern Nevada and nearby communities. Located in the suburb of Henderson, the 120-bed hospital, which opened in 2016, offers emergency care, surgical services, including an ambulatory surgery center, cardiovascular care, women's health and maternity services. A level II neonatal intensive care unit is slated to open by late 2017.
Performs procedures in accordance with physician orders, policies and procedures, nurse and/or supervisory directives.
Essential Job Duties:
Performs responsibilities consistent with hospital safety policies, and functions as the Safety Officer for the department.
Provides routine hyperbaric and emergency treatments to patients.
Provides all aspects of patient's care including, but not limited to, ear irrigations, non-invasive monitoring. glucose monitoring, and transcutaneous oxygen monitoring. Performs dressing changes and/or wound care within scope of practice, as ordered.
Responsible for quality control, inventory of supplies and monitoring of equipment function including, but not limited to, preventive maintenance checks and calibrations.
Assists physician and other staff in the ongoing assessment of patients including physical, environmental, educational, self care, spiritual, psychological and discharge planning needs.
Assists the physician and team members in developing and implementing the plan of care for the patient, including assisting with special procedures.
Operates the hyperbaric chamber in a manner consistent with department procedures and nationally recognized standards.
Answers telephone inquiries and schedules patient treatment times. Performs marketing duties as requested.
Performs data entry into the Wound Information Data System and collates reports as requested. Participates in new patient reviews to assess for HBO indicators.
Educates patient and /or family as to the benefits, risks, contraindications and safety issues of hyperbaric oxygen therapy before treatment.
Performs serial photographs of the wound for reporting of the patient's progress. Updates data systems with monthly photos.
Performs treatment and procedures consistent with policies, UHMS standards and national protocols.
Reports pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to physician. Documents observations accurately and concisely.
Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse reaction in patients within scope of practice. Monitors patient pre-, during and post-Hyperbaric therapy.

Competency in use of technology and computers as necessary for job responsibilities.
Makes suggestions/recommendations for improved operations to the department, facility.
