This position qualifies for the UVA Medical Center Clinical Ladder. The salary range reflected in this job posting is for an RN Clinician 2. The Neonatal Emergency Transport (NETS) team at the University of Virginia provides critical care transport for between 350 and 400 pediatric and neonatal critical care patients per year throughout the Commonwealth and beyond via ground and air. Our independent team has autonomy and a close working relationship with the UVA Children’s Hospital.
We’re seeking a capable clinician who is focused on expanding their knowledge and skills and who will:
•Consistently provide effective direct care as part of the interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients.
•Manage care and implement treatment plans at a refined skill level in collaboration with patients, their families, physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
•Seek and provide feedback for improved clinical practice.
•Assume a beginning leadership role but seek mentoring in this process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Assesses the physical, psychological, social and cultural dimensions of patients according to professional practice standards and institutional policy/procedure.
2.Organizes, coordinates and prioritizes nursing care activities considering the needs of the patient.
3.Implements patient population-specific interventions based on individual patient needs.
4.Evaluates effectiveness of care and care coordination, progressing patients towards desired outcomes.
5.Develops and implements patient/caregiver teaching plan based on identified health education needs and the condition and age of the patient.
6.Provides for a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
7.Assumes responsibility for professional development of self, and contributes to and assists with the professional development of others.
8.Demonstrates leadership in the delivery of patient care.
•Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred.
•1 year of relevant experience.
•Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

More Information: Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered for this position
•Three years of Neonatal ICU experience (5 or more is preferred)
•Must have BLS and PALS Within six months candidates are required to have:
•Certification: Neonatal Resuscitation Program and STABLE
This position qualifies for the UVA Medical Center Clinical Ladder. The salary range reflected in this job posting is for an RN Clinician 2. Additional compensation is available if you are hired into a higher level on the Clinical Ladder. Those hired as either a Clinician 3 or Clinician 4 must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree and possess a specialty certification from a national certifying organization and meet applicable Career Ladder Behaviors. Placement on the clinical ladder will be discussed during the recruitment process.
