Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
The University of Louisville, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology is seeking to add two (2) neonatal nurse practitioners (NNP) to our twenty-four (24) member team. The practitioner has the primary responsibility for managing a caseload of neonatal patients in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and/or newborn nursery (NBN) setting, with consultation and general direct or indirect collaboration from a neonatologist. Responsible to utilize extensive knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacology and physiology. The APRN/NNP exercises independent judgement in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of medical processes and procedures along with providing teaching guidelines and may exercise supervision of medical residents, NNP students, and/or other staff. Our team provides coverage at six (6) different NICU's in the state of Kentucky: one - Level IV, two- Level III, and three - Level II. There are transport responsibilities at one of our level II locations.

Applicant is required to be: ** educated at a minimum of Master of Science in Nursing Degree (MSN) ** nationally certified or eligible for Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner through the National Certification Corporation (NCC) **eligible for Kentucky licensure as Registered Nurse (or have a registered nurse license in a compact state) and Kentucky licensure as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner **hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications ** hold DEA certification (must have one year of NNP practice experience before applying for DEA in the state of KY)
Hire date would be after certification and licensure are granted. Prefer five years of experience as bedside registered nurse in a level III or IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and/or NNP experience.
Additional Salary Information: Salary based on years of experience.
